How to Enrol

Due to the high demand for places at Meriden, we encourage parents to submit an Application for Enrolment as early as possible. The various stages of the enrolment process are outlined below.

Entry Levels

The main entry points at Meriden are:

  • Pre-Kindergarten
  • Kindergarten (limited places)
  • Year 5
  • Year 7

We accept new students in other year levels up to Year 9, when places are available.

Entry in Year 10
Students wishing to undertake their HSC at Meriden must commence at the School by the commencement of Year 10. New enrolments are not accepted after the commencement of Year 10.

A place in Year 10 at Meriden is by invitation only and is at the sole discretion of the School. Factors that are taken into consideration are:

  • strong academic performance by the student as evidenced in recent school reports and other relevant documentation
  • evidence of a high standard of punctuality, attendance and effort at school
  • commitment to joining Year 10 at Meriden at the commencement of the school year.

Please note that availability of a place in Year 10 is limited. Before submitting an application, please contact our Enrolments Department on (612) 9752 9444 to discuss the selection criteria and availability.

Step 2. Interview

Your Application for Enrolment will be acknowledged by our Enrolments Department on receipt and your daughter will be placed on our list of applicants for the relevant entry year. Approximately eighteen months to two years prior to the commencement date, you will be invited for an interview with the Principal (Senior School applicants), Head of Junior School (K - 6 applicants) or Pre-Kindergarten Coordinator. This is an opportunity for us to get to know your daughter and for you to ask any further questions you may have about school life at Meriden.
2

Step 3. Offer of Enrolment

Following the interview, the Principal will write to notify you of the result of your enrolment application. Subject to available places, Meriden offers enrolment places up to two years prior to the year of entry. Where possible, preference is given to siblings of girls already attending the School, descendants of Meriden Old Girls and children of current staff members; the School reserves the right to offer enrolment places to students on the waiting list according to the requirements of the School's academic and cocurricular programs. Enrolment is offered in accordance with the Meriden's Enrolment Policy and Procedures.
3

Step 4. Acceptance of Offer

If successful, the student’s place is secured upon receipt of an Acceptance of Offer form together with the enrolment fee. The enrolment fee is considered a firm commitment and is non-transferable and non-refundable. All enrolments are subject to acceptance of Meriden's Terms of Enrolment.
4

Step 5. Commencement Details

You will be notified of the student’s orientation day, commencement date, and other relevant details in the term prior to commencement.
