Meriden student-athlete receives Pierre de Coubertin Award

Meriden student Abbey Freeman (Year 12) has been selected as a recipient of the 2017 Pierre de Coubertin Award.

Named after the founder of the modern Olympic Games, this prestigious award recognises students who demonstrate sporting prowess whilst exemplifying the Olympic values of sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play.

Abbey has achieved at an exceptional level in both her academic and sporting endeavours. In addition to being an integral member of the Meriden Water Polo team, she has represented NSW and Australia in the sport.  Abbey is undertaking academically rigorous courses for her HSC this year and has already been awarded a full scholarship to study at one of the top universities in the USA.
