Tennis champions return to Meriden

25 July 2014

Tennis champions and former Meriden students, Amy Clifton (Class of 2011), Alex Osborne (Class of 2013) and Genevie Ulanday (Class of 2013) spent the month of July catching up with the Meriden community and coaching at the Meriden Tennis Academy before heading off to the USA.

The three tennis players are studying on full scholarships at universities in the USA. Amy is studying Mass Communications at Midwestern State University, Alex is majoring in Business Management at Arizona State University and Genevie will commence her studies this month at Jacksonville State University.

Amy, Alex and Genevie were participants in Meriden’s successful Olympus Program during their time at the School. The program caters for the special needs of students who compete at elite level in their sport. “The Olympus Program was an amazing help to me at Meriden. I loved every minute of being at the School. The tennis coaches were fantastic and so were the teachers and other students,” Amy said.
