Careers education and counselling are an integral part of each girl’s education at Meriden.
The Tertiary Adviser at Meriden provides guidance for students in Years 10 - 12 about post school choices and options. Year 10 students have a Careers lesson once a cycle in which they examine their personal strengths, abilities and passions; worldwide and national trends in work and employment; as well as practical skills such as resume writing and interviewing skills.
In Year 12 the Adviser meets with each student individually to examine together her subjects, preferences and options for tertiary studies at universities and TAFE and/ or employment opportunities. Those students hoping to study at international universities are also provided with information on how to apply. Year 12 students are updated through the Careers section of Meriden’s fortnightly newsletter about opportunities for GAP experiences, scholarships and such as they arise.
