Community Involvement

Community Involvement

The Meriden community is warm and friendly and there are numerous opportunities throughout the year to join in events and meet other families at the School.

Our various community groups play an important role in the School and make significant contributions through their friend-raising and fund-raising activities.

We encourage all Meriden families to participate in our many social events, and we look forward to welcoming you into our community.

Parents and Friends Association

The Meriden Parents and Friends Association (P and F) organises activities to raise funds for the School while enhancing the School’s community spirit.

Parent assistance for each major event is organised through subcommittee meetings and all parents and carers are warmly encouraged to join these committees to support the School and the P and F.

Major events coordinated by the P and F include the Senior School Parents’ Expo, Mother’s Day Breakfast and the Senior School Father’s Day Breakfast as well as catering at some of our outdoor concerts and the annual Family Carols.

Enquiries regarding the P and F are welcome and should be addressed to communityrelations@meriden.nsw.edu.au

Junior School Auxiliary

The Junior School Auxiliary (JSA) arranges fundraising events and social get-togethers for Junior School families including the annual Twilight Picnic, Mother’s Day Stall and Junior School Father’s Day Breakfast. All funds raised by the JSA are used to purchase resources for the Junior School.

The JSA meets monthly on a Tuesday morning in the Selim Library. The Committee is always happy to hear from parents who would like to help out at one of the JSA events during the year.

Friends of Meriden Sport

Friends of Meriden Sport (FOMS) supports the wide-ranging Sports program available to students at Meriden. Activities undertaken by FOMS help to increase interest in the program and raise funds for resources and other requirements. There are several opportunities to support this enthusiastic community group including the barbecue at the Senior School’s Annual Fun Run where donations of products or assistance are gratefully received.
