I hope all fathers, grandfathers and father figures had a wonderful Father’s Day last weekend. It was lovely to be able to celebrate our fathers as a whole community on 1 September, with the P&F and JSA coming together for the first time to host this special event.
Meriden’s Father’s Day Breakfast on the Village Green was a wonderful reflection of what it means to be part of our community. The jazz-inspired sounds of our musicians, led by Mr Ray Cassar, created a great atmosphere, while families enjoyed the food and refreshments, and most importantly, time together.
What made the event particularly special, however, was the incredible contribution of our parent volunteers. Many generously gave their time in the lead-up to the event, with some arriving as early as 5am on the morning itself to help set everything up and make the Village Green look so inviting.
A community is built through these collective contributions, often made quietly and without expectation of recognition. My sincere thanks to everyone who played a part, including the Maintenance, ICT and Marketing teams. Events like this are only possible because so many people are willing to give their time and help.
If you would like to be part of this group of wonderful parent helpers, please consider getting involved, by registering your interest here. There are lots of ways to contribute throughout the year, and it is a great way to connect with other families and be involved in the life of the School.
Key Reminders:
- The Senior School canteen is cashless. Students need to have a Flexischools account or a physical card with them to purchase food. Mobile phones are not permitted to use for payment.
- Year 12 parents and students are warmly invited to attend the Year 12 Prayer Breakfast. This special gathering provides an opportunity to reflect, offer encouragement and pray for our Year 12 students as they prepare for the weeks ahead. Please register via the TryBooking link here.
- A permission notification has been pushed out on the Meriden Parent App/Parent Lounge, allowing you to authorise direct dismissal from the ICC after the conclusion of House Choral (Thursday 24 September). Without this accepted consent, we will assume your daughter will return to Meriden on the school-provided bus.
- The uniform shop’s last day of trading for Term 3 will be Friday 25 September, closing at 5:15pm. It will re-open from Thursday 8 October 2026. Students return to School in Term 4 in summer uniform.
- Blazer pocket submissions will be available for 2027 House Officers, Prefects and current 2026 Year 12 students. Information regarding blazer submissions will be circulated by Mr Hughes closer to the end of term. Blazers will be collected on Friday 25 September at recess and lunch outside the Recital Room.
