The House System
Participation in House activities is a longstanding Meriden tradition. The House system provides an opportunity to make new friends outside the classroom, facilitates across-age friendships and helps new girls gain a sense of identity.
Community service projects together with inter-House competitions in sports and performing arts, foster a keen House spirit and help to develop leadership and teamwork skills.
There are six Houses at Meriden – Warwick, Sussex, Cumberland, Kent, Durham and Oxford. Each student is placed in one of the six Houses when she enrols at the school. Each House has four officers who lead the House through the year’s activities. Staff members act as House Advisors.
