Highest possible ATAR awarded to three Meriden students

Dr Julie Greenhalgh with Helen Zhang and Jessica Wei who, together with Betty Zheng, achieved the highest possible ATAR of 99.95

Meriden students Jessica Wei, Betty Zheng and Helen Zhang are three of only forty-six students across the state to achieve an ATAR of 99.95 which is the highest possible ranking. It is exceptional for three students from the same school to be awarded 99.95.

Nearly 12% of Meriden’s 2018 HSC students achieved an ATAR of 99.9 or above and more than half of the cohort received an ATAR of 90 or above.

Jessica, Betty and Helen were amongst the 23 Meriden students to be named as All-Round Achievers. All-Round Achievers are those students who have achieved results in the highest band possible for at least 10 units of HSC courses.

Jessica placed 2nd in the state in both English Extension 1 and Latin Extension, Betty topped the state in Senior Science and placed 6th in English as a Second Language, and Helen placed 4th in Latin Extension.
