On Tuesday, the Parent and Friends’ Association hosted the Senior School Father’s Day Breakfast. It was an enjoyable morning for the Meriden community with many fathers and daughters sharing conversations and a hearty breakfast. Thank you to the volunteers who donated their time and gifts to make the morning possible. The Parents and Friends’ Association will hold its next meeting on Monday 4 September at 6:00pm in the Boardroom, located on Level 2 of the GCMD. All Senior School parents are welcome to attend.

Last week, Meriden’s Athletics Team competed in the IGSA Athletics Championships. The girls performed exceptionally well, placing second overall. There were many excellent performances, including several personal bests. Ada Rand, Year 12, broke an IGSA record in the 800-metre 18 Years event. Her outstanding performance, coupled with her other achievements, led her to receive the title of Senior Age Champion.

Meriden’s Year 12 athletes have performed strongly for a number of years, and it was fitting that during their final year of competition, the girls won the Senior Relay and the Senior Division – these are outstanding achievements. Many thanks to Head Coach – Athletics, Mrs Nicole Boegman-Stewart and her team for preparing and guiding the girls this season. Thanks also to parents for their encouragement of the girls, including during the lead-up events such as the Twilight Competition.

Meriden’s Twilight Concert will take place on Tuesday 12 September from 6:00pm for students in the Meriden Music Academy. The concert will take place in Blackman Auditorium and Wallis Auditorium. Everyone is welcome to attend and show their support for our musicians.

Year 12 students have returned to their usual classes after completing their HSC Trial examinations. The Year 12 Graduation and Valete Dinner events, due to be held on Wednesday 20 September, are fast approaching. Year 12 parents are encouraged to book their tickets to these memorable events through Trybooking.

As we come out of winter and approach the warmer months, it is timely to remind families that in Term 4, the girls must wear their full summer uniform. The Uniform Shop is well stocked, and the staff are keen to assist you in meeting your uniform needs.
