The Junior School Music Ensembles Concert this week showcased the musical growth of our instrumental and choral groups. The audience enjoyed performances by the Years 3 and 4 Choir, Years 5 and 6 Choir, Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra, Junior Band, Junior Chamber Strings, Year 6 Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Band. The number of girls participating in the Music cocurricular program is extraordinary, and we sincerely thank Ms Jodie Spooner-Ryan, Ms Melinda Bryant and all the Music staff for their work with our musicians this year.
Junior School girls recently reflected on the idea of gratitude through activities facilitated by the Year 6 Prefects. These included writing thank you messages to supportive people. In Chapel, we were reminded that gratitude is a response to the goodness of God that can prompt us to share with others. With this in mind, we are collecting items to donate to Anglicare’s Toys-N-Tucker appeal from Monday 13 November until Thursday 23 November. Boxes will be placed in each classroom for donations of food and unused gifts that Anglicare will distribute to share the joy of Christmas with those in need.
The next JSA Meeting is on Tuesday 21 November, at 8:00am in Selim Library. All parents are welcome to attend. The last JSA event for the year is the JSA Disco on Friday 24 November. Each year group will have a disco during the day, and the JSA will kindly provide ice blocks. The girls may wear sport uniforms with a coloured hair accessory.
