It was lovely to welcome the Junior School students this morning as they returned to School and to greet those who are new to Meriden. The teachers have prepared excellent learning experiences for the girls and we have planned some special events for the community this term.
Meet the Teacher Evenings
Parents are warmly invited to meet the teachers and other parents in their daughter’s year group during the evening sessions scheduled in the first weeks of term. Please note that the Meet the Teacher Evenings are designed for parents and students do not need to attend.
The Kindergarten Meet the Teacher Evening on Monday 5 February will be held in Blackman Auditorium from 6:00pm – 6:45pm.
The Years 1 to 6 Meet the Teacher Evening is scheduled for Thursday 8 February. Specialist teachers will be available to meet parents in the Junior School Hall from 5:00pm to 6:50pm and the year group sessions are listed below.

The Pre-Kindergarten Meet the Teacher Evening on Thursday 15 February will be held in Blackman Auditorium from 6:00pm to 6:45pm.
Junior School Auxiliary (JSA)
The first meeting of the JSA will be on Tuesday 6 February, at 8:00am in Selim Library. We will be planning the JSA Twilight Picnic, and all parents and friends are welcome to attend.
The JSA Twilight Picnic on Saturday 17 February will be held in two sessions:
- Session 1 (3:00pm – 5:00pm) – Pre-K and Years 1, 3 and 5
- Session 2 (5:00pm – 7:00pm) – Kindergarten and Years 2, 4 and 6
The picnic is a wonderful way to get to know other families in the year group. Please plan to bring a picnic blanket and something to eat.
Parent Forum
On Tuesday 20 February, Dr Judith Locke and Dr Danielle Einstein will present a session for parents of Meriden girls. This Parent Forum forms part of a tailored program that Meriden is undertaking with Dr Locke and Dr Einstein about helping children manage worry, fear and anxiety, targeted to girls in Years 5 – 8. The presentation will be held in Wallis Auditorium, commencing at 6:00pm. Further information is available here.
