Mr Loane
Head of Campus

Term 1 draws to a welcome conclusion this Friday. This term has been full of rich learning activities, both inside and outside the classroom, beginning with the Year 7 Friendship Camp. It has been pleasing to see girls in this year group increasing in confidence as they navigate their way around campus and become more involved in the life of the school.

The Drama production Daisy Pulls it Off was a great success, and the joyful culmination of many months of rehearsals. It has also been a big term of sport at Meriden. We successfully defended the Tildesley Tennis Shield, fielding all finalists in both the Singles and Doubles competitions. Saturday sport wrapped up last weekend and the Senior Firsts in Badminton, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo all triumphed in their top divisions. It was fantastic to acknowledge all teams at Assembly this week, including all forty-six Badminton groups! I also had the privilege of coaching a Volleyball team this term; I greatly enjoyed watching skills develop and teamwork strengthen, examples I am sure were replicated across all teams this term.

The Easter break towards the end of term gave us a chance to pause and ready ourselves for the holidays, while considering the greatness of Jesus’ death and resurrection and its place in our lives.
