In this article: Safety dropping off your daughter | Year 7 Vaccinations | Pink Sports Day

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope all families had some time to relax and rest during the break in preparation for another big term of learning and activities at Meriden.

Over the holidays a group of thirty senior students and teachers travelled to Queensland and visited the Great Barrier Reef for a Geography field trip. There were also over eighty Year 9 students who completed their Adventurous Journeys for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award on the Colo River.

I would like to remind parents to please not drop their daughter(s) off in three key locations: Do not drop your daughters on:

  • Redmyre Road towards Homebush Road
  • Redmyre Road opposite Strathfield Plaza
  • Margaret Street just off Redmyre Road.

Year 7 students may be vaccinated this coming Wednesday 15 May.

Please provide your consent at the Service NSW platform here, or find out more about the program here.

Vaccinations will be provided onsite by NSW Health and guard students against Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (dTpa) (Boostrix) and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) (Gardasil9).

The P and F are looking forward to hosting the annual Mother’s Day Breakfast at Waterview in Bicentennial Park on Friday May 10 from 6:45am. It promises to be a great morning for the Meriden community.

The School is raising funds to support Australians affected by breast cancer in partnership with IGSA and Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) by hosting a Pink Sports Day fundraiser on Saturday May 11. Girls are encouraged to wear pink hair scrunchies and pink playing socks sourced from BCNA.

Please consider contributing to this excellent organisation and supporting its wonderful cause here.
