STEM Week
Congratulations to our Science and STEM captains for a fantastic STEM week. The activities began with a creative workshop for a group of Year 9 students, who used entrepreneurial thinking to propose their own social enterprises. This was organised by the Young Change Agents, a not-for-profit social enterprise organisation.
Throughout the week, students were also engaged in a periodic table challenge, paper plane competition, Maths escape room and a Science scavenger hunt. The annual Science Showcase was also a highlight, with students from Years 8, 9 and 10 showcasing their student research projects. Mrs Alex Phillips reminded us in Chapel about God’s wonderful creation and our responsibility as stewards of this creation.
Trial Exams and HSC Language Exams
The Year 12 students have now completed their Trial Exams. They are commended on the outstanding manner in which they tackled these exams. Their punctuality, attendance and maturity throughout the period were notable. They are no doubt relieved that this milestone is completed and look forward to the feedback from their teachers.
We wish our Year 12 language students well as they complete their HSC language exams. These are spread over the coming weekends. It has been a busy time for these students as they not only prepare for trial exams but also complete these HSC speaking exams.
Design and Creative Arts and Drama Showcases
This week we celebrate the wonderful major works of our Year 12 students at the Design and Creative Arts and Drama Showcases. The Design and Creative Arts Showcase will highlight the projects of the Visual Arts and Design and Technology students, before these are submitted for judging by the HSC markers. We wish them well and are very proud of their achievements. The Drama Showcase is also the final performance of the individual and group projects of Drama students before they present their works to the HSC markers.
