Learning after exams

As a teacher, it is a wonderful privilege to ignite and inspire curiosity in young learners. Deciding what topics, ideas and skills to develop in the classroom is a challenging and exciting prospect. The syllabus documents provided by NESA can be both a blessing and a challenge in this context. In the same vein, set assessment tasks can inspire students to delve deeply into concepts but can restrict them if a topic of interest is not included.

With examinations finished, there is now a degree of flexibility and freedom for students, and it is a great time for them to pursue areas of curiosity and interests. Students can delve deeper into issues and investigate concepts and ideas that may not be specifically addressed in the syllabus documents. We are all reminded at this time that learning is not all about the final assessment.

This may well be the best and most exciting time for learning.

While final examinations may be completed, there is plenty of time to still learn and grow in knowledge and skills. As all life-long learners know, there does not need to be an assessment task to be inspired to learn.
