House Movement Process

We are in the process of allocating students into new Houses for 2025. Thank you to the girls who have put themselves forward to move Houses and be a part of the exciting opportunity to build a new House culture. Students who are moving will be notified of their new House allocations by the end of the term.

The pastoral staff have looked closely at the House allocations and have sought to distribute evenly, so that each new House can have a strong start. When the House allocations are announced, it will be important to remind the girls of the reasons for this change and the opportunities it presents for them to connect with new girls in their year group. We will be doing this at school and would appreciate the support of parents too.

To allow for the creation of strong House cultures, we will be introducing ‘House Thursdays’ in the Pastoral program from 2025. The girls will meet with their House for a range of activities every week, allowing them to create a strong House culture and connections with girls in other year groups.

Some of the activities that the girls will participate in are outlined below:

  • House Meetings
  • House Mentoring (‘Big Sister Program’)
  • Student Chapel
  • House Service
  • Carnival Preparation
  • House Choral

We have appointed four new House Patrons to the incoming Houses: Ms Stella He (Cambridge), Mr Cameron Isaacs (Norfolk), Ms Samantha James (Lincoln) and Ms Esther Houghton (York).

We are excited to see how these teachers help the students develop their unique House culture. We are looking forward to seeing what Cambridge, Norfolk, Lincoln and York will become known for in 2025, and how the current Houses use the opportunity to continue to build on their existing cultures.
