I would like to extend a warm welcome back to all our families after the three-week break. It was encouraging to see how quickly the girls settled back into school, reconnecting with friends and teachers with enthusiasm for the upcoming term.
I am excited to welcome two new Visual Arts teachers to the Junior School: Ms Janine Chapman, who will teach Kindergarten through to Year 4 and Year 6, and Mrs Tracey Galanos, who will teach Year 5. Previously, Visual Arts was taught by class teachers, and we are excited to now have two specialists dedicated to this area, bringing focused expertise in creative techniques and artistic development. Our girls will benefit from the expertise of Ms Chapman and Mrs Galanos, with each class receiving an hour lesson weekly.
Our teachers are looking forward to meeting with parents at the upcoming Parent-Teacher interviews, which will be held on Monday 28 July and Monday 4 August. These conversations provide an important opportunity for home and school partnership, allowing us to discuss your daughter’s progress and work together to support her continued growth.
There are so many things to look forward to this term. While our focus remains on the excellent learning in the classroom, some events that the girls have to look forward to, but are not limited to, include: the JSA Walkathon, Book Week, Athletics Carnival, Father’s Day Breakfast and student-led initiatives such as, Science Week and Compassion Week.
