Thank you to all the dads and father figures who joined us for Father’s Day Breakfast on Tuesday. The girls were absolutely delighted to share the start of their school day with you, and it was wonderful to see our community come together in such a joyful way.
The JSA’s exceptional organisation made the event run seamlessly. Their thoughtful planning, including the addition of a second coffee cart and two photo booths, reduced wait times and allowed for more socialising. The delicious food also contributed to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I appreciate the JSA’s ongoing dedication to improving our events and their care for the Junior School community. For parents interested in joining the JSA, the next meeting will be held on Tuesday 16 September at 8:15am in the Selim Library.
As we move into the latter half of Term 3, many students are feeling tired as they work hard in the classroom and with their cocurricular activities. Quality sleep is essential for classroom engagement, emotional regulation and overall wellbeing. When our girls are well-rested, they are better equipped to embrace challenges, build friendships, and make the most of their learning opportunities.
To support better sleep for your daughter, you might consider:
- Establishing a consistent bedtime routine, even on weekends (remembering that individual sleep needs vary; younger girls may need 11-12 hours, while older students may function well on 9-10 hours).
- Limiting screen time in the hour before bed and keeping devices out of bedrooms.
- Encouraging quiet, relaxing activities like reading before sleep.
- Creating a cool, dark and calm environment dedicated to rest.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support our girls. To all the fathers and father figures who love, nurture, guide and inspire our students, we wish you a wonderful Father’s Day this Sunday.
