The 2025 Archdale Debating season has come to an end this week. The season has been very successful, and in conjunction with Monday Debating Club, gives witness to our thriving debating program. A highlight of the season was all eight teams made the quarter-final stage, with two teams, 7A and 8B, advancing all the way to the grand final, held on Tuesday at MLC.

Postings for the new Cadet training year, in partnership with Trinity Grammar School, were announced recently. Lahna Jung is the Executive Officer and Eloise Dargan was appointed as the Regimental Sargeant Major (RSM). Mai Chu (Administration Officer) and Abigail Chan (Training Officer) complement the Company Commanders, Annabelle Allen, Jasmine Dong, Abigail Sidhom and Keira Waked. We look forward to the new training year commencing in Term 4, where Year 7 recruits begin their Cadet journey.

The school’s P and F association hosted a Father’s Day breakfast on Tuesday morning. After an early start preparing a hearty meal, fathers were welcomed to the Senior School Bell Garden to enjoy a meal and conversation with their daughters and other fathers. Thank you to the tireless efforts of the P and F in coordinating this treasured community event.

Some parents have notified the school of issues with the Meriden App. For the time being, uninstalling and reinstalling the app seems to rectify most issues. Should you continue to experience difficulty using the app, please contact the Meriden ICT Department via reception on 9752 9444.

Year 12 Graduation

Year 12 Graduation draws closer. On Wednesday 24 September, all of the Senior School will make their way to the ICC in Darling Harbour.

Year 12 students and their families will make their own way to the venue.

Musicians will make their own way to the venue or take an early bus from Meriden.

All other students will be transported by bus, leaving from Meriden soon after 8:30am.

After the Graduation service concludes, Year 12 students with their families will depart the venue. The remaining students will have their lunches at the ICC and will return to the ICC Theatre from 12:45pm, for a 1:00pm commencement of the House Choral Festival. Parents are welcome to attend and show their support.

The event will finish at 3:00pm and students may either catch a bus back to Meriden or be dismissed directly from Darling Harbour. Parents must accept a Parent Lounge event if they wish for their daughter to be dismissed from the event.

Please note, the buses returning to Meriden will not make it back in time for the normal Meriden bus runs. All students should bring their Meriden excursion bag, with a small, packed lunch and water bottle. Lunches may be ordered from the school canteen via Flexischools.
