The Parents and Friends Association hosted a Father’s Day Breakfast in the Bell Garden, complemented by a similar event with the JSA in the Junior School, at the start of the month. The smell of onions, sausages and coffee drew an eager group of fathers to the school with their daughters to celebrate over breakfast. It was a great morning together and I thank the volunteers for making this community building possible.
Our friends from Neutral Junction School in the Northern Territory came to Sydney this week and enjoyed a range of activities, including Junior School and Senior School classes, as well as a trip to the Blue Mountains, the Botanic Gardens, the Australian Museum and Manly Beach. It was wonderful to see friendships rekindled from the Year 11 Immersion trip earlier this term as well as new friendships formed as learning exchanges occurred throughout the week.
Another term of sport comes to a close this weekend. I have enjoyed watching some rounds of Badminton, Football and Netball. The girls have had a great season, with both wins and losses, but most importantly, with improved friendships and skills. I have also valued having a chat with some parents at the games.
Our Tennis team was recently crowned champions at the NSW High School Tennis Championships in Albury. Furthermore, a Water Polo team will head to Queensland and contest the QLD All Schools Water Polo Tournament.
Year 12 Graduation will take place on Wednesday 24 September in Week 10. This is the school’s premier event and provides a formal occasion to celebrate and send off the graduating class of 2025. It is a compulsory event for all students in the Senior School. Transport to the event is provided for all students in Years 7 to 11. Parents have the option of approving their daughters to be dismissed directly from the ICC at the conclusion of the House Choral event that immediately follows the Graduation event. Please accept the ‘ICC Dismissal’ event on Parent Lounge. Remaining students will be transported back to school by bus.
Term 4 commences on Monday 13 October for Years 7-11, and on Tuesday 14 October for Pre-K to Year 6. This also marks a transition to the summer uniform. Please ensure all items of clothing and personal items, such as drink bottles and lunchboxes, are labelled with your daughter’s name.
