Next week is Creativity Week in the Senior School. It is a time in which we celebrate the many ways in which our students demonstrate their creativity. Creativity Week kicks off with our annual Music Under the Stars Concert and will finish this year with the inaugural Festival of Houses. Girls will engage in a range of activities throughout the week in their lessons and at lunchtime that are designed to help them to tap into their creative skills and showcase their learning in ways that push them to design and innovate. We will see girls perform and showcase their creative works through performance, displays and in publications such as Muse and Equilibrium.

Creativity is one of the fundamental aspects of what it means to be human, and we believe that all girls at Meriden are inherently creative beings. It is so important for each girl to find ways to express her individual creativity, whether it be through music, art, writing, developing practical handicraft skills or innovation and invention.

The summer holiday period is a great time for girls to spend time on their creative pursuits as often the precursor to creativity is time (and boredom!). Encourage your daughter to spend time exploring her creative pursuits and expanding the bounds of her creativity. It will be good for her soul (and has the added bonus of being important for brain development).

Finally, as we move into the Advent season and a time of anticipation of Christmas, it is our hope and prayer for all the girls at Meriden that they may be struck anew with the message of God come among us this Christmas. This truth is the most important thing they will learn at Meriden. May the Christmas season be a time of great blessing, hope and joy for all our Meriden families as we reflect on another wonderful year of learning, growth and development. Have a blessed Christmas.
