“…then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.”
Philippians 2:2
As Term 3 draws to a close, it is fitting to reflect on the extraordinary contribution of our Year 12 students. One of the greatest pleasures this year has been watching them embrace the true meaning of joy. Joy is more than a fleeting feeling of happiness; it is a deeper sense of purpose, connection and gratitude that endures through both the celebrations and challenges of school life.
Under the thoughtful leadership of our Prefect Body, Year 12 has embodied their theme of ‘Finding Joy’. The words of Philippians speak of a community united by shared values, care for one another and a common purpose. Our Year 12 students have found joy not only in their own achievements, but in fostering a connected and supportive community where others can flourish. Through their enthusiasm, generosity and wholehearted engagement in school life, they have strengthened relationships, enriched traditions and contributed meaningfully to the vibrant spirit of Meriden. Whether through assemblies, service initiatives, House activities, celebrations or the countless everyday interactions that shape our culture, they have demonstrated that joy grows when it is shared.
As they enter their final weeks as Meriden students, their example reminds us that some of the greatest joys are found not in individual success, but in the relationships we build, the communities we strengthen and the opportunities we create for others to belong. We wish our graduating class of 2026 every success in their HSC and future endeavours.
