The Hudson Library (Senior School) and the Selim Library (Junior School) are at the heart of teaching and learning at Meriden. They provide a place of enrichment for the school community.
The libraries feature advanced digital technologies including plasma television screens, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, data projectors and electronic whiteboards.
Meriden is a reading community and the libraries provide a wonderfully-varied collection of fiction and literature that stimulates students to read widely. Meriden students take part in the Premier’s Reading Challenge, Children’s Book Week, special literary events and writing competitions.
The fiction and extensive non-fiction collections are complemented by a technology-rich environment that provides access to sophisticated databases and online resources.
Staff members work hard to equip the students with advanced information skills so that they will become lifelong learners. The libraries are the busy hub of school life. And even when the lights are turned out the libraries are still working, providing on-line material to the school community through remote access.
