An emphasis on developing the values and skills needed to actively lead and make a positive contribution to the community is integrated throughout all areas of school life at Meriden. Together with building leadership skills appropriate to their age, students are given opportunities and guidance in putting their knowledge into practice. Many opportunities are provided for student leadership and service. Some are formal and some informal.
Value is placed upon commitment to the ideals of Meriden, upon leadership by good example, and upon service to others in keeping with the Christian ethos of the School.
Developing sound leadership qualities contributes towards a student’s preparation for life. During their education at Meriden, girls learn to become independent thinkers, to voice their opinions, to take responsibility for their actions and to develop resilience. This growth is enhanced by the environment in which they learn. At Meriden, every student is known and valued.
