Meriden athletes named in CIS 2017 Merit team

The NSWCIS Athletics Championship held on 20 September saw Meriden achieve its best results ever in this competition.  Nine Meriden athletes competed in the events, claiming eight medals and three personal best performances.  Meriden's medallists will be named on the CIS Merit team for 2017. 

Silver medals were awarded to Isabellah Walker in the 15 years 100m event, Grace Spence in 14 years discus, Yasmin Alali in 17 years shot put (personal best), Milan Ji in 12 years long jump (personal best) and Hannah Powell in 18 years discus.

Meriden's bronze medallists were Isabellah Walker for 15 years 200m (personal best), Amelie Sun for 13 years 1500m and Hayley Spence for 16 years shot put. Genevieve McKeown and Hayley Spence earned fourth place in the 14 years triple jump and 16 years shot put respectively. Sixth placings were secured by Milan Ji in the 12 years high jump, Amelie Sun in the 13 years 800m and Christiana Stone in the 14 years javelin events.
