Mrs Kenny
Head of Teaching and Learning

Next Wednesday evening, 19 October, Dr Greenhalgh, Mrs Hearne and I will speak to Year 11 parents and students in Wallis Auditorium about the HSC year that lies ahead. We will address the mechanics of the HSC, including the calculation of ATARs, rankings and assessment procedures. We will also discuss Meriden’s recipe for success in terms of students playing to their strengths, acting on teacher feedback and demonstrating resilience and a consistent work ethic. An effective approach to completing Major Works will also be discussed.

The presentations will begin at 6:00pm and conclude by approximately 6:45pm. At 5:30pm, prior to the presentations, the Heads of Department will be available to answer your questions. We look forward to seeing you at this informative evening and addressing any of your concerns.

Ms Bass, Dean of Academic Care, is meeting with each Year 11 student over the next few weeks to ensure that individual suites of subjects form the best combination for each girl. This includes discussion about extension subjects and appropriate levels in English and Mathematics.
