Year 12 HSC Timetable

Last Friday brought a heightened sense of anticipation with NESA’s release of the 2023 HSC examination timetable. HSC exams begin on Wednesday 11 October with English Advanced, Standard and EAL/D and conclude on Friday 3 November with Food Technology. Each student can access her individual exam timetable via Students Online.

HSC Minimum Standard

Before the HSC can be awarded, students must achieve the minimum standard in reading, writing and numeracy. Students can begin sitting these online tests in Year 10, well before commencing their Year 12 studies. The tests assess the skills that students need to complete everyday tasks. NESA changed the requirements recently so that students in Years 10 and 11 who need to re-sit the tests can do so up to four times per year. Students who are in Year 12 may sit for each minimum standard test no more than six times. All students reattempting a test in the same domain must now wait at least thirty calendar days after their previous attempt at the test.

Mrs Nicole Hearne, Dean of Studies, will oversee minimum standards testing which begins this term for Year 10 students.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

I am looking forward to seeing you at the Parent/Teacher Interviews for Years 8, 9 and 10 this term. Please note the dates below and look out for the email that will prompt you to make bookings with the teachers you wish to see:

  • Year 9 – Tuesday 16 May
  • Year 8 – Tuesday 30 May
  • Year 10 – Tuesday 20 June

Teachers will be located in Wallis Auditorium and the Recital Room in the Greenhalgh Centre for Music and Drama. It remains a good idea to allow five minutes of travel time between appointments if possible.
