Our Book Week activities culminated with a celebration of literature on Friday 25 August. Pre-K to Year 2 girls looked amazing in their costumes, and they all enjoyed participating in the Book Parade. Girls in Years 3 to 6 also enjoyed dressing up as book characters and were entertained by the Jazz Band’s lunchtime concert in the playground, conducted by Mr Ray Cassar dressed as the Mad Hatter!
The Book Fair and author visits organised by Mrs Cath Evans, Mrs Jodie Pascale and Mrs Debbie Whitford enabled parents and students to purchase quality literature and inspired young writers throughout the week. We are grateful for the efforts of the Year 6 Library Team members who helped prepare Book Week.
JSA Father’s Day Breakfast
Hundreds of guests attended the JSA Father’s Day Breakfast this week. The breakfast was superbly organised by Mrs Val Ko, JSA President and the JSA Committee: Mrs Julia Lee, Mrs Janet Kim and Ms Jenny Liu. The JSA Committee is supported by many parents who regularly attend meetings and provide invaluable support for events such as the Father’s Day Breakfast. Thank you to Mrs Liang for making cupcakes and Dr and Mrs Banh for donating bread rolls. We are also grateful for the volunteers who arrived early in the morning to set up and cook the delicious food.
We wish all the fathers, grandfathers and special people in the girls’ lives a happy Father’s Day.
