It was lovely to hear the happy voices of Junior School students this morning as they returned to School and to greet those who are new to Meriden. The teachers have prepared excellent learning experiences for the girls and we have some special events planned for parents, including the Meet the Teacher Evenings, JSA Twilight Picnic and Parent Forum.
Meet the Teacher Evenings
Parents are warmly invited to meet the teachers and other parents in their daughter’s year group during the evening sessions scheduled in the first weeks of term. Please note that Meet the Teacher Evenings are designed for parents and students do not need to attend.
The Kindergarten Meet the Teacher Evening on Wednesday 1 February will be held in Blackman Auditorium from 6:00pm – 7:00pm.
The Years 1 to 6 Meet the Teacher Evening is scheduled for Thursday 2 February. Specialist teachers will be available to meet parents in the Junior School Hall from 5:00pm – 6:50pm and the year group sessions are listed below.

The Pre-Kindergarten Meet the Teacher Evening on Thursday 9 February will be held in Blackman Auditorium from 6:00pm to 6:45pm.
Junior School Auxiliary
The first meeting of the JSA will be on Tuesday 7 February, at 8:00am in the Selim Library. We will be planning the JSA Twilight Picnic, and all parents and friends are welcome to attend.
The JSA Twilight Picnic on Saturday 18 February will be held in two sessions.
- Session 1 (3:00pm – 5:00pm) – Pre-Kindergarten and Years 1, 3 and 5
- Session 2 (5:00pm – 7:00pm) – Kindergarten and Years 2, 4 and 6
The picnic is a wonderful way to get to know other families in the year group. Please plan to bring a picnic blanket and something to eat.
Parent Forum
Dr Judith Locke will present a Junior School Parent Forum on Tuesday 28 February in Wallis Auditorium, commencing at 6:00pm. The session will focus on strategies to help your child or teen become confident and capable in 2023. Dr Locke is a registered clinical psychologist and author of The Bonsai Student and The Bonsai Child.
