Learning Feedback for your daughter
Feedback about the Junior School girls’ learning is shared with parents during the year through the digital portfolio, written reports and interview sessions.
A variety of work samples are shared continuously during the year through the digital portfolio, including written responses, digital journals, videos and artworks. The portfolio includes feedback about what the student is doing well and her next steps for learning and is a useful avenue to start conversations at home. Questions such as “What did you do well?” and “What can you do to improve?” help the girls develop important self-evaluation skills.
Parents will receive written feedback about each subject area at the end of this term when reports are emailed to families. Each individualised report contains specific progress statements for English and Mathematics to help parents understand their daughter’s growth and development and her next steps for learning. The feedback for Pre-Kindergarten families includes information about social and emotional development. From Kindergarten to Year 6, information is provided about the student’s achievement in relation to NSW syllabus outcomes, the effort she has given to the learning areas, and feedback about her learning practices.
Parents will be able to meet with teachers to discuss their daughter’s progress and learning goals at the next session of Parent Teacher Interviews on Monday 29 July and Monday 5 August.
Term 2 Activities
The girls have been involved in a variety of enriching incursions, excursions and other activities this term. The Junior School Athletics Carnival last week was a wonderful success, and the girls are commended for their outstanding participation.
Many girls performed at the Sydney Eisteddfod recently. While the results were outstanding, the girls also benefited from the valuable feedback provided by adjudicators, performing in a Concert Hall, and listening to choirs and ensembles from other schools.
