Term 3 ended wonderfully with the Graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024 at the ICC. I hope all families were able to get some rest over the break and that your daughters are ready for Term 4. Please mark Tuesday 9 December in your family planners for the Senior School Speech Night, held at the Sydney Town Hall.
Over the holidays, many girls took up exciting opportunities, including a Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey, a language and culture tour to Spain, and a Water Polo tour to New Zealand. There were also many events and trainings occurring at or near school.
A group of students and staff from one of our Northern Territory partner schools, Ti Tree School, travelled to Sydney this week. They have enjoyed their time, which has been spent in the Senior School, Junior School and around our city. It has been most pleasing to see Meriden and Ti Tree students learning together, in activities such as Tech Club, PDHPE and Music. The Year 11 students who travelled to Ti Tree in early Term 3 have enjoyed this reciprocal visit and have built on the friendships formed in July.
Saturday sport begins this weekend, and families are warmly invited to support their daughters on the sideline, to encourage fair play and respect of opposition and officials, and to meet fellow parents.
On Thursday 24 October at 6:00pm, the next Amadeus Concert will be held in Wallis Auditorium. The Meriden community is invited to attend and enjoy an evening of fine music. The IGSA Festival of Speech takes place on the afternoon of Friday 25 October and all day on Saturday 26 October at MLC School. The Meriden team is looking forward to competing after a busy season of preparation over the last few months.
