Australian Track and Field Championships
During the last week of Term 1, 11 Meriden athletes along with two alumnae from the Class of 2024 competed at the Australian Junior and Senior Athletics Championships in Perth.
After an initial rainy start and windy conditions, the week-long hot weather was ideal for top performances.
Meriden girls performed well at these championships with some outstanding results, coming away with six medals (two gold, two silver and two bronze), seven top-eight placings and six personal best performances.
This was the largest number of Meriden students competing at this event, with Yolanda Dolenac, Rekha Levine, Indiana Middleton and Eleni Rakasi all competing at their first national event.
The girls had trained and competed well in the lead up to these championships and are commended on their achievements throughout the Athletics season.
