Seven students were named as Top Achievers, placing in the top-10 in the state in a course, including Abisha Thevarajah, who placed first in the Spanish Beginners course.
“I was really pleased and shocked with the news but equally glad that all my hard work and support from my teachers and the school had paid off,” Abisha said.
“My motivation was my enjoyment of the subject and classes, which made studying not feel like a chore,” Abisha said when asked about her HSC preparation.
In addition to Abisha’s outstanding result, four other Meriden students achieved a top-five placing in the state: Michelle Cho, second in Japanese Beginners, Isabella Rajah Tapia, second in Spanish Continuers, Grace Shen, fourth in Chinese Extension and Teresa Yang, fifth in French Continuers.
